Celebrating Summer Solstice with a Morning at the Beach

I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Summer Solstice than to spend a little time exploring the beach at low tide.

Thanks to a friend who suggested we meet her for a stroll along Alki Beach in West Seattle, we saw an osprey diving for a fish, an eagle scoping out the water, a woman hula-hooping with multiple hoops, and many more (but not too many) beachcombers and explorers just like us.

How will you celebrate the season? Where are you headed this weekend… or this summer?

    • He gets very excited about throwing rocks and sand into the water, Martie! Now it seems he even counts “1, 2, 3…” (in his own babble) before he releases the object. And yes, part of the movie was filmed on Alki.
Hope you enjoy the super moon!

    • How exciting, John! Where are the dunes? I love to check them out some day…only big dunes that I’ve run down are in the Outer Banks of NC. Bet they’ll have a blast.

We'd love to hear from you!
